Your small change can make a difference
Sight has been described as the most delightful of our senses and yet there are literally hundreds of thousands of South Africans who are technically blind due to the fact that they cannot afford eye care. In essence, these people are needlessly blind as their burden can be relatively easily corrected with spectacles (for those who have refractive errors).
The Vision in Sight Trust, a non-profit organisation, was established by the South African Optometric Association to facilitate the delivery of affordable, accessible and quality eye care to the indigent market.
To raise funds to help those who cannot afford eye care the Vision in Sight Trust has partnered with the Round up Foundation to launch a new campaign called e-tin™.
e-tin™ is an innovative and cost-effective electronic small change collection mechanism which allows you to donate your “small change” electronically to the Vision in Sight Trust. When you pay your participating optometrist’s account by means of a credit; debit card or cash, you can opt to “round up™” your account to the nearest round amount and donate the extra money (small change) to the Vision in Sight Trust or make a donation of an amount of your choice via e-tin™. Thereby we ensure that together, the millions of rands we never care about as “small change” can make a vast and ongoing difference to the lives many South Africans and give us the satisfaction that our small change can make a difference!
